The HEARTBEAT community is a powerful way to stay connected to everyone in HAI and also a way for HAI as an organization to keep you abreast of what is happening. The HEARTBEAT LOGIN provides access to online sign-ups for workshops and events, and also to Chatter, a social networking feature that is internal to HAI.
PART 1: PRIVACY
Confidentiality in our workshops is part of the fabric of safety we all create together. In that same spirit, all content on The HeartBeat should be shared only with people who are members of The HeartBeat. Similarly, please do not share the content of private Chatter groups outside the membership of that group.
At the end of each workshop, we post the workshop roster as a file in the private Chatter group for that workshop. Please use the roster only for personal communications, not for any business use, chain letters or the like. Also, please do not use the roster to generate any other roster or list.
It is important to understand that anything you choose to put in your HEARTBEAT PROFILE can be seen by EVERYONE who is a member of The HeartBeat, including other participants. If you choose to be part of Chatter groups for specific workshops, everyone in The HeartBeat will also be able to see that you are in those Chatter groups, and by inference, that you have attended those specific workshops. Only members of a private group can see the content of that group.
If privacy with other HAI participants is a concern, you may opt to use an alias in your HEARTBEAT PROFILE rather than your real name, for your First, Last and Username. This may make it difficult for people you want to be connected with to identify you, but it will also provide more privacy.
It is also important to understand that our internal record of your CONTACT information is a completely different record than what you put into your HEARTBEAT PROFILE. They do not need to match. If you wish to use a fictitious name or alias for your HEARTBEAT PROFILE you may. This will not affect your name in your internal CONTACT record.
Also note that team members are able to see the contact information of other team members. This feature replaces our previous team roster.
When signing up for events, if you submit your credit card information, that information is securely stored in a way that no person can see it, including the office staff. The office staff can, with your permission, charge your card for events, but they can only see the last four digits of the credit card, and the expiration date.
Also see HAI Global’s Privacy Policy.
PART 2: CHATTER AGREEMENTS
A central feature of the HEARTBEAT is Chatter, the ability to engage other groups of members of the community in conversation. This is a grand experiment in whether a conscious community such as HAI can have an open forum where everyone can talk to everyone. In order to succeed at this, we need to have some guidance as to what is okay to post and what is not.
Generally, our primary guideline is that we communicate in a way that is in alignment with the HAI Global Mission Statement. If we all do this, problems should be kept to a minimum. This includes treating one another with dignity and respect, all the time. It’s okay to disagree with a person, but not to be disrespectful.
An obvious question arises: who decides what is in alignment with the Mission Statement? And of course, it’s the community. Any Chatter post can be flagged by anyone in the community as inappropriate. If a person exceeds a threshold (not yet determined) in the number of messages flagged as inappropriate, someone from HAI will have a conversation with that person. HAI Global reserves the right to remove any person from the HEARTBEAT community. A pattern of inappropriate posting, or a failure to change behavior after being asked to by HAI, is cause for a person to be removed. It is our hope that this will never need to happen, but it is conceivable.
PART 3: ADVERTISING IN CHATTER
Generally, ads are not allowed in Chatter. There are two rather large exceptions.
HAI Events are events that are led by HAI Facilitators or other certified leaders, and produced by HAI Global or a HAI Producer.
To qualify as a HAI Event, the event needs to be produced by HAI Global or a HAI Producer, approved in writing (email will suffice) and scheduled by a HAI Producer, HAI Global’s Executive Director (ED), or authorized proxy. (For example, in Norcal, the Lights teams and Introduction to Intimacy Workshop coordinator have permission to schedule events, serving as the Producer’s proxy.)
No other advertising is allowed in the Chatter groups.
NOTE: HAI reserves the right to block or remove any post that it considers offensive, inappropriate, contrary to its values as expressed in our Mission Statement, or that violates confidentiality agreements, including revealing exercise content of HAI workshops.
PART 4: HAI GLOBAL LIST/GROUP DISCLAIMER
This list or group is provided as a service to the community. HAI reserves the right to remove any post determined by HAI to be inappropriate, contrary to the Mission Statement, or in violation of confidentiality.
HAI disclaims any and all responsibility for events posted here, unless expressly designated a “HAI Event.” All other events shall be deemed “Non-HAI Events.” HAI will not be liable for any damages arising from or in connection with any opinion, information, product, service, or Non-HAI Event posted in this or any HAI list or group.
You are solely responsible for your use of any HAI list or group, including your participation in advertised events and services, and for researching the qualifications of any person or group advertising any product, service, or Non-HAI Event. By using this list or group, you agree to be bound by this disclaimer and to release HAI from any claims, liability or damages described herein.
